Dobrý den!
After four weeks I'm establishing some rhythms. Open the windows in the morning to get fresh air. Coffee, fruit, apricot yogurt and granola. Catch up on correspondence. Duolingo Czech lesson (and some other self-directed studying). And because the church I've been attending recites the Apostle's Creed in Czech, I've been trying to wrap my tongue around it so I can do more than mumble "watermelon watermelon..." I've been working on learning some new media communication strategies. And more days than not involve a trip to the grocery store for the day's meals.
But soon there will be new rhythms. Tomorrow I move (again) to a temporary place (again), until my long-term apartment is ready. This temporary spot is in a village called called Radonice (pronounced RAH-doh-neet-seh). It's just east of Prague, and dates back to the late 14th Century...but that's not particularly noteworthy around here. It's about a 15-minute bus ride from the nearest Metro station, and buses only run every hour or so. My current place is right by public transit hubs, where I rarely wait more than five minutes. I will miss that! I will also begin a two-evening-per-week language course starting next week (I hope!)

I stopped by the cemetery where I first sensed God's explicit invitation to come here a year and a half ago; it's an unofficial pilgrimage place for me. It carries a gravitas that's hard to put into words. The modern missions movement began only a couple hours' journey away, and now...the soil from which grew so many missionaries, is now in desperate need of them.
Please pray for me in my ongoing transition from temporary to long-term dwelling. I am looking forward to not living out of a suitcase, but that is at least a few weeks away. In the meantime, I'm grateful for a place to lay my head! Please also pray for ironing out the kinks in my house sale; it's supposed to close this week, but there are still some unresolved complications. I would also love some good news on the visa front; as of yet, no word. So please keep praying!
