Dobrý den z Prahy!

Week number two in Prague has been low-key...updating pesky software and other computer-y things, some exploring of the city, figuring out where to buy the necessities. I met with a couple people for lunch or coffee, and checked out some neighborhoods for housing options. I've been looking online looking for places to lease that are A) affordable, B) adequately equipped and generally decent, and C) convenient to good public transport, and D) not high up in a building without an elevator! (Getting all four is a rare unicorn indeed.) I have a couple lines on places to check out, hopefully later this week.

My house in Richland is still under contract, but some inspection discoveries could potentially be costly (old houses!). There are some other complications related to the fact that the house is part of a living trust. I don't think these issues are insurmountable, but are just more things to deal with, and distance and the nine-hour time difference don't help!

A local hiccup I've encountered is that my summer language school plans have fallen through. I was notified on Friday that I was the only "absolute beginner" student signed up this summer, so they can't have a class for just one person. And I don't think my Duolingo has pushed me into the next level up. So this leaves me with some uncertainty about this summer's plans for language study. And also...still no word on the visa!

Even so, I'm grateful for the peaceful, comfortable space I'm in at the moment. This is my second "rodeo" with global missions, but from a much different stage of life and perspective. I'm quietly enjoying the "missionary honeymoon"--when everything is new and interesting and quaint. But novelty is the novocaine of cultural adjustment, and it does wear off eventually! Please pray that I will walk with grace and patience when those times come. I'd also really appreciate prayers for finding a suitable place to live by the end of the month; resolution of the sale of my house; sorting the up-ended plans for summer language learning; and a timely approval of my visa. Thank you!
